Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota and Blue Plus Starts Online Program for Mental Health Support

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota has announced the start of a Mental Health Program with more than 200,000 members enrolled in the state medical assistance programs. This program will help the members to live with stress, anxiety, depression, substance, tension and insomnia. This program is available free of cost for all the Blue Pulse members with the age group of 13 – 64.

The Learn to Live Program started by the company can help the members in addressing their needs to control their anxiety, tension, depression, stress and insomnia. This program will also help to improve their overall emotional health. The programming is based on the experience and principles of more than 10 years clinical experience.

Vice president of Medicaid at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, Christine Reiten said, “Access to mental health care and support is a top priority in serving this population and we are committed to removing barriers to care and providing additional resources like Learn to Live.”

“The need for increased support is particularly apparent as the uncertainty of COVID-19 and the resulting economic downturn has exacerbated existing racial and health disparities in underserved communities,” he added.

Co-founder and CEO of Learn to Live, Dale Cook said, “We’re seeing an increase in mobile phones used as a lifeline, so we know it’s critical to offer a resource that also presents incredibly well on mobile devices.”

“We provide confidential support, powerful tools and convenient live services to help manage the myriad stressors of these times, and to empower people to build resilience and improve their emotional wellbeing. We look forward to working closely with the Blue Plus teams to support this expanded population,” he further added in the statement.
